What is the main reason why children have dummies and blankest? For comfort and security right? To sooth them when they are sad or upset or sometimes just to silence them ...
But when I think about it .... I want to be all those things. I want her to cry for ME not some gross plastic thing. I want my baby to be as addicted to me, as others are to dummies.
When she cries, I am not going to silence her, but rather pick her up, and with love try to figure out what is wrong.
A dummy totally spoils a babies face! How many smiles do you miss, because you can't see your baby's mouth.
I am not even going to talk about all the medical and emotional negatives!!
The same with other comfort blankets .... It has to be me me me. I am her mother, the one who loves her unconditionally, the one who will give my life for hers.
All a baby needs is it's mommy.
